Sexual confidence, sensual expression and meaningful connection are at the heart of sexual wellbeing, yet many of us weren’t given the tools or language to fully experience it.

Sex and intimacy problems can leave us feeling anxious, lonely, frustrated and deeply unsatisfied. You are not alone with this. Finding your way to a happy and satisfying sex life involves exploring, learning and healing your relationship with intimacy.

Psychosexual therapy involves considering the mind, body and emotions, as well as the impact of the wider social environment. I appreciate that embarking on any therapy involves a commitment of your time, energy and finances. However, with focus and motivation, I believe you can experience change within 3-6 months with some psychosexual presenting issues.

It is not possible to put a timeline on working through trauma wounds or long-held unresolved relational issues. This is a process of compassionately, safely and gently lessening the impact of the past from your present.

  • Detached/dissociated from sensation/pleasure

  • Fear of sex and/or intimacy

  • Attachment wounds
  • Low self-esteem and/or sexual confidence

  • Sexual compulsive behaviour

  • Exploration of gender

  • Exploration of sexuality

The underpinning principles of my work are inclusivity, respect and acceptance.

Gender, sexual and relationship diversity is central to these principles.

I create a confidential, non-judgemental space in which to talk openly and

straight-forwardly about any aspect of your sexual life, fantasies and kinks.

    About me

gemma-21_edited.jpg

As a Psychosexual and Relationship Therapist it is my privilege to support you in working through tricky and sensitive subject matter. I promise to make therapy as comfortably as possible - no topic is taboo - and although at times challenging, I will guide you with care, compassion and when appropriate humour and lightness.

My approach will be tailored to you and your primary reason for attending therapy. I draw on modes of thinking from various psychological theories: psychodynamic, CBT, transpersonal, transactional analysis, all supported within the framework of mindful enquiry to increase your self-awareness, autonomy and agency.

I am a Registered Psychosexual Therapist and Relationship Therapist with professional body COSRT. As well as running my private practice in Battersea, I am a Senior Psychosexual Therapist for the NHS, as part of the Sexual Health South West London service, where I also support a team of trainee sex therapists.

I’m a Registered Supervisor offering clinical supervision to qualifying and qualified therapists, specialising in psychosexual and relationship issues. For supervision inquiries, email here.

    Types of therapy

Individuals

Sex, sensuality and conscious communication are skills that can be learnt, so as to reduce anxiety and build confidence. Sex therapy will help you discover and expand your sexual-self and get closer to the sex life you desire.

I recommend committing to 12 weekly sessions and then reviewing at the end each 12 week period to ensure the focus and momentum.

£80 per session

Intimate Partners

Relationship therapy provides the tools for more harmonious partnerships, resolving old resentments, exploring unmet needs and instigating lasting change.

Communication is at the heart of satisfying relating; whether you are in crisis, considering a new relationship structure, working through psychosexual problems or wanting to build intimacy and excitement.
